What I do is this: I write down every process that's running on my
machine. I go to sysinfo.org and type in the name of the process. I then
scribble a note next to the process name to describe what it does, and put a
checkmark next to the ones that I want to stay as a process. I go into
msconfig
and uncheck the others one at a time to make sure it doesn't disrupt
something. Now that I have that piece of paper, I can check my processes
every so
often against that list to see what new ones I have, and I only have to look
those up. When I first did this, I would look up about 5 a day until I
had them all done.
