Karen, I Googled "convert font points to pixels" and came up with this: http://www.reeddesign.co.uk/test/points-pixels.html It's only a starting point but it might get you on your way...

I'm putting together a form with a DBGrid, and here's a real time-waster for me. I prefer to put in column widths for each of the columns. Call me picky, but I like defining how wide each column will be rather than being surprised with automatic fits. It's alot of trial and error, back and forth, until I get it right. Shouldn't there be a way to write a routine where I can plug in the font size and the number of characters you want to see displayed and calculate what the column display width should be? I would then start with that number and micro-adjust from there. I don't even care that about data types -- I would type in 8 characters for a mm/dd/yy date, or type in how many characters I think my number field would have... Anyone have something like that or know what the equation would be so I can write it?
