Bob,
The latest version of EXCEL files ".XLSX" are no longer simple binary files but 
rather a zip file of other zip files.

The internal files of the ".XLSX" files are compressed and therefore FIND and 
FINDSTR will not produce desired result.

I believe they work for a "simple" binary file, 
such as an Excel file, but would not be able to on some programs that have an 
encryption scheme built in such as zipped 
files.
