Thanks for the response.  I thought that was the case.  Since this view
is used in multiple reports and used quite often, I will stay with the
permanent view.

I usually have a rule that if the view is only for one report( and is
only ran from my application), then I create it on the fly. If the view
is used on multiple reports/forms or used from dbexplorer then I create
a permanent view.

 

I have never noticed a speed difference in a temporary view vs.. a
permanent view.

If I use a report based on a view every day, is it better to have a
predefined view (as I have now) or create one on the fly?

Is there really a difference in speed or other processing functions that
one would be better than the other?

I have the latest 7.6.
