Subjx is a Varchar, Is Indexing Varchar is allowed??
This is my first Varchar column.

Try the command without the IDQUOTES around the tables and columns. You
never know - stranger things have happened. I should also have mentioned
the column order in descending frequency of nulls - my bad.

Try putting a compound index on the table.
