No I haven't I will try it with V8 and see what happens. I won't be able to
do that until tomorrow I'll report back my results.

Gary,

Have you tried the same sequence in 7.6 or V8?

If it works in either of them, then it may be possible that

there is something to be worked on in V8 Extreme.

I have not had any problems using Gateway but my import

files have been smaller.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - Importing Tab Delimited File

Hello All,

I am running Rbase 9.0 (64) I trying to use file gateway to load a Tab
Delimited File (txt) to an existing table. Using the Import Wizard I get to
the Screen where you tell Rbase to start importing at row number: after I
press the next button the program acts like its searching, nothing else
happens.

I have tried this several times and get the same results, I even let it run
all night and nothing happen. If I try to close out of the File Gateway
Import Wizard I get a Rbase not responding error and have to force shut
down.

The file I am trying to import is 677,641 KBs and has 3,563,000 rows of
data. I have checked the table and it is ok the rows are all there. I have
even tried importing to a NEW TABLE but get the very same results.

I have done the import using access and it worked fine, I know Rbase is not
going to be out done by off the shelf access, so my question is what am I
doing wrong?

Thanks

Gary
