I did a side by side comparison of UDF vs DLCall in 2007 conference:
UPDATE mccontact SET contlname = (UDF('@RProperCase.dll', contlname))
UPDATE mccontact SET contlname = (dlcall('RPrpCase.dll', 'RPropCase',
contlname))
Both DLLs, the UDF version and the Win32 version (a convesion of the UDF
version) were written by me.
So, I'm pretty sure if the UDF is written properly, it will work in 76.
If the UDF is ever used in-line like the example above, the performance hit
is terrific since LoadLibrary gets called every time there is a call to the
UDF, so to keep up with the times, I recommend you make the changes to adapt
to DLCall.

In R:BASE 7.6 for Windows, you will have to use the
"WINUDF" function to achieve you goal.
Syntax:
(WINUDF('exe-name','parameter-list'))
(WINUDF('-exe-name','parameter-list'))
(WINUDF('+exe-name','parameter-list'))
(WINUDF('@dll-name','parameter-list'))
