Do you have error messages turned on? If so, what error message are you getting?
I use the APPEND in my vertical application and have had no problems. My clients are now running with V8 but prior to V8 I had 7.5. If you have access rights assigned, make sure the user has the proper rights for the tables you are working with. The instruction is in an eep in a form and it will work on my machine which has the developer - and I run the exe program outside of the developer.
