I have a form with a scrolling region displaying items listed by department. I want the users to be able to see all the items but only approve/edit those items that are listed with their department number. I have the security set up so that the application will know who the user is and their department - but how do I prevent them from approving or updating items that aren't in their department? Should I use a before update trigger or a rule, or would there be a better way to handle this?
