I have noticed $$$ files left after SCONNECTing and SATTACHing to tables in another database.
Did you check to see if RRBYW17 has code in it to clean up any leftover $$$ before exit?  I remember Razzak posting some code semi-recently to cleanup scratch files.

Jan,

I just tried with RRBYW17 and did not see this happening.  I’m not sure where to go from here.

Good luck,

Mike,

But isn't this considered abnormal?

I have always understood that in normally running and terminating

sessions of R:BASE, all scratch files will be deleted, not SOME scratch files.

I hear you, Jan.  I have the same issue even though I have "Clean scratch files on exit" checked on the Settings menu.  This is for Turbo V-8, but not quite the most recent version.

I am using CCleaner to clear them out.

Just sympathizing.

Have a great day. -- Mike Ramsour

Group,

I was wondering if someone can confirm this. I'm observing a behavior that I'm trying to nail down.
I'm noticing that the $$$ files do not always clear out, even when exiting R:BASE normally.
For instance, when you start R:BASE you normally get 3 $$$ in the temp folder. Shut down your
session and the 3 $$$ disappear. But in certain processes, even exiting normally will still leave a
stray $$$ file.

Suggestions?

Jan
