See the results below. I did it in 7.6 and 9.1 (64) and it worked just
fine. Then I tried with the exact file name you gave in your reply, and
got the same results you did - invalid file spec. Weird, to say the
least. I also tried adding a .txt to the end of the file name and it
told me "Syntax is incorrect for the command RENAME". I guess the system
(I am using XP Pro SP 3) doesn't like that particular file name. j
