Wow, just got a call from a client that I haven't heard from in years that
wants to export data from a DOS 6.1A database because they're moving to a
new off-the-shelf software (I honestly thought they had moved to other
software years ago). I thought I could write a program with a few "gateway
export" commands that they could run themselves (they have no dial-in
capability
and are over an hour's drive).

But looking at the internal help for DOS 6.1A, it seems that "gateway
export" wasn't available back then! I see that you could run
       GATEWAY [script]
It says: "the script option automatically executes the specified script
file"

But I don't remember how you wrote script file back then. And I threw away
all my old reference books. Anyone know how you would write an export
script to unload all the data from a table to an excel spreadsheet? Brain
teaser!

Karen
