I have tried 6.0 DOS and you are indeed correct (not that I doubted that). Seems that, as you say Gateway then only dealt with script files (saved keystrokes was it then according to the Help file ) and export was limited to WK? files when it came to spreadsheet formats. Sorry my memory was awry on what could be done then. Maybe the only option is to extract the data using a series of UNLOAD commands and then massage the ASCII data back into spreadsheets for importing. John nicely sent me a scan of pages from 5.5 manual, but I think that applies only to windows. If I bring up 6.1 DOS and type in the usual gateway export command, it brings up the Gateway menu. It seems to me that in DOS you cannot type a "gateway export" command. Were you trying this in a windows version or a DOS version?
