Bill, I don't have any experience with it, but is mirroring of the database an option?
Another idea could be R:Synchronizer. Because of security issues, he wants to put a copy on another server for his customer to use.. He needs to update the customer's database for inventory quantities from his production database every 30 minutes so his customer will have current inventory quantities.
