Jan,

Right-click on the Taskbar and select Properties (last option)

Under Taskbar Tab | Taskbar Button | Select appropriate option

. Always combine, hide labels
. Combine when taskbar is full
. Never combine

You may also look into the option of "Lock the taskbar".
