Dennis
You could just ask whoever is importing the worksheet the sheet number.
I've done that in the past where I asked the sheet number and row number.

Thanks Jason,

I could do the same if I wanted to.
I prefer all-rbase solutions since they are easier to maintain and run under
differing environments.

This can be done, with a certain amount of bad language, using
VBScript and importing the result into a TEMP table. I can write something
and post it to the list in the next day or two if anyone is interested.
                                        Thanks,

True, but sometimes sheets are reorganized without changing the name.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a function to retrieve a list of the sheet names
in a workbook, in their sheet number order?

FWIW ...

SHEET_INDEX value parameter is the bullet-proof identifier to specify a
specific sheet of the spreadsheet file, starting with 0.

In addition, very consistent without having to worry about the name that
could be misspelled, duplicated, and/or any name that makes no sense in the
R:BASE world.
