Karen,

I get the same message all the time using R:Base 9.5-64 and Windows 7.
Normally if I wait a few seconds after I wiggle the mouse or press the shift
key, the application snaps right back.

You might want to check the power settings and make sure that the hard disk
is not set up to stop after a few minutes idling. My laptop is setup to
ignore all power saving features when plugged in but I still get the
message; I just have not taken the time to research the issue further since
it has been (so far) only a minor annoyance.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - 9.5 times out on Win 8, not networked

If I am idle for a period of time in 9.5, I end up with the windows "this
program has failed to respond" or whatever the heck that message is, and I
have to "close the program". I have a lone laptop, no network here. This
has been messing me up when I'm working with temp tables, etc. I'm
assuming this is a windows 8 setting that I'm missing? (No rbase timeout
command is present)
