I would also appreciate clarification on this. I have two single user
7.6 environments and both suit the needs of the respective businesses;
one is a non-profit and other a small property management firm.

If I understand your recently stated policy change, the need to replace
either production 7.6 computer or HDD will necessitate upgrading one
or both to 9.5 (or the latest RBASE release at the time of need). Can you
confirm as well as explain the rationale for not allowing us to continue
with 7.6 in a cost effective manner for a stable application in the scenario
where hw must be updated/replaced.

Like Doug, I am not asking for support other than the ability to reload
RBASE when hw needs to replaced. It seems extremely onerous to have
to upgrade RBASE solely for a license key.

So does this mean that a company who's running a successful multi-user
7.6 system that suits their needs cannot reactivate an R:Base
workstation if that hard drive crashes and is replaced? (I believe new
hard drive will change the hardware signature which invalidates the
activation key. Correct me if I'm wrong.)
i.e. replacing a $35 HDD would result in over $1,000 in upgrade costs.
That's a big bite for a lot of smaller businesses, especially under
continuing economic uncertainties.
