Thanks to the code that a friend sent me that he uses, I realized
that I forgot to put one very important thing into my test email program,
copied from the PDF help document.  I forgot to change the 
"Account Name" to my setup name!

So I changed the program code, I saw the email attempt to go thru,
but fail with an "authentication" error.  For the heck of it, I created a
second profile without authentication and tried it using that profile.
Success!  Email went through even though IT guy said it required
authentication.
