Aha! The setting is stored in the DB!
Perfect!

Thanks, Razzak, for the info.

Similar to NULL, DATE, TIME, CHAR, the new NOCALC setting is relevant to the
connected database.

-- Example
   CONNECT dbname
   SET NOCALC ON
   DISCONNECT
   EXIT

   Start RBG95
   CONNECT dbname
   SHOW NOCALC
(CVAL('NOCALC')) will reveal the current setting for NOCALC.

That's your tip of the day!

Enjoy!

Version 9.5.5.20214
I added these to my config file.
NOCALC ON
CHECKPROP ON

Start RBASE
NOCALC is OFF
CHECKPROP is ON

It looks like NOCALC does not work in the config file.

What has been added to the config file?

Dan,

Perhaps I shouldn't have said "needs".
Since there are two new environment settings and a new config file,
I felt it would be prudent to do a database unload before a reload.

Try unloading the problem table and looking at the data in excel or notepad.

I am wondering why you said with the most recent update you need to do a
complete unload/reload? The reason I am asking is two of my databases got
corrupted shortly after the update. I did an unload/reload and they have been
fine since. That way I am not looking for a bad NIC or something else that
caused the corruption.

Thx

Group,

Because the most recent update really needs your database to do a complete
unload and reload,
I've come across a couple of problems (stress these are problems with my data).

During the reload I receive numerous errors of ONE specific problem,
COLUMN mycolumnname must be valid DOUBLE.

Fine. Then I search the column and fix the data and unload again.

I've searched on that column looking for stuff like a text or something but not
really seeing a problem.
How would I query the database looking for an invalid value in that column?

Jan
