Karen: Try setting it to "1". I use this technique to unload data to a text file. I think it will accomplish your goal.
Sample code: SET NULL ' ' SET HEADINGS OFF SET WIDTH 2000 SET SELMARGIN 1 I use variables earlier in my program to capture the current settings so that I can set them back when the program completes its run. Hope that helps. Regards. It creates a text file with a header row created with a "write" statement followed by a complicated "select" statement. Here's what it looks like (shortened and edited): !INVITEM,ACCNT,INVITEMTYPE,ASSETACCNT,COGSACCNT,TAXABLE,NAME,DESC,COST,PURCHASEDESC,PRICE INVITEM,Sales,INVENTORY,Inventory,Cost of Goods Sold,Y,85079-3504,Mink Coat,100,Mink Coat,200 INVITEM,Sales,INVENTORY,Inventory,Cost of Goods Sold,Y,85080-RSM78,Rabbit Coat,100,Rabbit Coat,150 In DOS we used the microrim_selmargin 0 to get the select to go to the left margin. In 9.5 I tried the "set selmargin 0" but it starts with one blank at the left, which is what I think the help file is confirming. Am I missing something, or do I have to change this to an "unload as ascii" command? (I'm not doing that right away because it will require creating a temp table as alot of stuff is done within the "select" that wouldn't be allowed in an unload) Thanks!!
