That wouldn't be the first question I would ask. The answer probably lies within the " I was doing some modifications " statement.
Look more closely at the properties of the offending field's property sheet and/or the Object Inspector. If you don't see anything there, then look at the form data in sys_forms3 to see where the "ghost" choose is tied up. This kind of culprit is usually a field that was copy/pasted and data binding changed to another column and forgetting that there were other activities associated with the field.
