Dear R:BASE Community,

The new releases R:BASE X and R:BASE X Enterprise are now available!

What is the difference? Well, there are actually many differences between R:BASE X and
R:BASE X Enterprise.

R:BASE X uses a 32-bit pointer for database file access. This version uses the RB1-RB4 database file extensions, and is the appropriate upgrade option for R:BASE users whose
database total size is less than 500MB.

R:BASE X Enterprise uses a 64-bit pointer for database files access. This version uses the RX1-RX4 file extensions and is the appropriate upgrade option for all R:BASE users who require access to larger database file sizes. R:BASE X Enterprise also includes several new data types for larger column data. R:BASE eXtreme 9.5 (64) and R:BASE Turbo V-8 users will upgrade to R:BASE X Enterprise. R:BASE X Enterprise is also the correct product to connect to SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, and other large database products.

But there is more! Please review the R:BASE product comparison for a list of differences between the R:BASE products. Refer to the Product Comparison link at following Web page:

R:BASE Technologies has taken steps to ensure the transition from your current R:BASE product to R:BASE X is smooth and worry free. Version 9.x users will experience no conversion issues when migrating to R:BASE X. For those with older releases, the process to convert will be simpler with R:BASE X, but may be more time consuming based upon the age of your current version. Detailed instructions are available within the R:BASE X
Database Conversion Guides. Refer to the links at the above URL.

R:BASE X is sold initially as a Single Seat License with, or without, a 5 Seat Add-On Network License. A Single Seat License must be purchased first, and then the 5 Seat
License is added to it. Ultimately, the licensing increments as follows:

 . Single Seat License
 . 6 Seat License
 . 11 Seat License
 . 16 Seat License
 . etc.

R:Compiler, Runtime, and Corporate versions are also available. And, do not forget to upgrade your add-on products and R:BASE X plugins. Remote Client licensing is also
available for all products.
