RSTYLE definitely helps. James Belisle

I have it set to change keywords to upper case and to full length any abbreviations I have typed when it checks the code. I bought a copy from Dennis many, many years ago. I think R:azzak was a sharp cookie when he merged it into R:Base. It finds all my booboos before they lock up my system. At my age, remembering what the logic was behind the programming is becoming more difficult and the comments help a lot when reviewing older code. Using abbreviation was OK in the old days when memory was at a premium but now that memory is plentiful. It makes no sense to me to use shortcuts and/or command abbreviation that makes the code challenging to read and very difficult for those not experienced in R:Base programming. Now, when I write code, I do it with the idea that someone else will be maintaining it in the future and I want to make it easy for them to understand what I was doing. I had a consultant yell at me once for "taking the time" to add parenthesis and commas into commands that were written by someone else lacking those things. I knew someday that sloppy codewriting might come back to hit ME even though I hadn't written it. I will continue to monitor for 100% correct syntax!! I think with the advent of mobile devices and texting, etc., future programmers will have issues with the concept of needing every single comma in its perfect place, no shorthand! Unless of course someone invents a programming language not requiring perfection.... Karen -----Original Message----- From: A. Yes, the R:DCC (R:BASE Development Corner Crew) will always set things straight! Enjoy all privileges of communicating directly with the development team of R:BASE, and the unprecedented product support. Very Best R:egards, Razzak
