Dear R:BASE Community,
The R:BASE X Trace Debugger has been updated with several new features, one of
which allows for more power-debugging of application code with many more
"break"
options for watch variables.
A watch variable is a variable that you can monitor as commands are
processed in
the Trace Debugger. After variables are added to your watch variable list,
they
appear in list fashion within a toolbar on the right side of the Trace
Debugger
window. While reviewing and stepping through application code, the watch
variable
list refreshes with new or updated values.
In R:BASE X (Version 10), breaks can be defined for watch variable,
allowing the
trace debugger to halt/break when:
. the specified variable is created
. the specified variable is deleted
. the specified variable has a null value
. the specified variable value changes
. the specified variable value equals a specific value
Options to work with watch variables are easily accessible using the right
click
menu options of the Watch Variables toolbar, the main Trace Debugger
Toolbar, or
by right clicking on highlighted text of the displayed code, and selecting
to add
the value to the watch variables.
Carefully monitoring your application code is easier than ever!
