Assuming the following:
Parent Table: NONHAZ
Child Table: NONHAZDETAIL
View: NONHD (Based on NONHAZDETAIL)
Form: NONHAZ (First Table)
NONHD (Second "Table) [Region]
IF Button to insert data to NONHAZDETAIL table is placed
when NONHAZ is the current table on form THEN
RECALC TABLE at end of EEP should refresh the region.
IF Button to insert data to NONHAZDETAIL table is placed
When NONHD is the current table on form THEN
TRY:
In the EEP:
PREVTAB
RECALC TABLE
Also: when moving between rows in the Parent table, the child table
refreshes. That being the case you can also try NEXTROW,PREVROW EEP
commands to simulate that (or use PLAYBACK files)

Subject: view not updating
I have a form, NONHAZ, that displays a view (region) called NONHD. NONHD is
based on table NONHAZDETAIL.
Form NONHAZ has a button which runs an eep to insert data into NONHAZDETAIL.
The eep runs, the data gets inserted, and when returned to form NONHAZ, the
newly inserted row is not displayed in the view region NONHD. By tracing the
eep etc. I have verified that the row is actually inserted, and if the form
is exited and the re-entered, the row appears.
I have tried putting RECALC TABLE/VAR at the end of the eep, and also as an
option to entering the NONHD view. Neither seems to work.
I previously just closed the calling form, ran the insert form/eep, and then
re-opened the main form. However, I *would* like both forms to stay on the
screen if at all possible.
Is this behavior occurring because the view is not being updated?
