Piece of cake. The idea is to see how many time your heart beats in 60
seconds, but it is very inconvenient to have to count each beat for 60
seconds......so....have the timer program tell the the person to start
counting ..."NOW" then 10-15 seconds later, stop counting
......."NOW". Then ask the patient how many times their heart beat
during the interval. The time between starting and stopping can be
anything convenient, usually 10 or 15 seconds, just make it consistent.
Say you choose a 10 second time between start and stop. Multiply the
number of heart beats by 6. If you chose 15 seconds, multiply by 4.
Voila!
