Hi All,

Our IS staff sent a copy of CHKDIR.DLL to Mcafee. They claim that the file
is not infected and that their DAT file needs to be updated to prevent a
"false detection". They have sent us an updated DAT file this morning. If
anyone would like a copy of the DAT file, please email me privately.

Best Regards.

Emmitt,

<The latest Mcafee DAT file is identifying a file CHKDIR.DLL dated
10/21/2000 as a backdoor trojan. This DLL was distributed on the
conference CD as part of Robert Rugilo's presentation. The documentation
on the conference CD describes the function of the dll as checking for the
existence of a directory.>

I've scanned this using PC cillin pattern 891 and searched several sites for
info on this DLL name but I've not found anything.

What does the tech info from Mcafee state! PC cillin didn't have anything
listed CHKDIR.DLL.

What is the trojan's name??

Oma
