I owe you all (and Jim Andrus) an apology. I really
goofed big style.
I use ClipMate5 and TextPad on a daily basis but why I
typed ClipMate5 when I should have typed TextPad is
beyond me. Put it down to Age, Familiarity Blur (and
probably just one drop too many of that famous flying
Elixir from Scotland !)
What follows comes from feeling a bit of an EJUT and is
in no way intended to be an Ad.
Textpad comes with a seemingly endless trial period
and sits on the toolbar in virtually any application
(including the R:Prompt). It does the things mentioned
in my original mail (and so much more).
You can even create your own Macros and run them
whenever and if interested, you can submit your
routines for others to use. www.textpad.com/ An
eventual single user licence eventually costs $27.
Chest feels a bit lighter now !
Many thanks for the replies - Already convinced about
removing # from column names - you've now made it a
priority. (Gulp !)
Ben - I agree - # have been great for searches but I'm
sure %ID will quickly become as familiar so I'll take this
opportunity to become watertight for future .
A big THANKS for the time you all give to the List.
There must be hundreds like me who really look forward
to the daily learning session.
David Atkinson.
