G'day Bob,

I can't remember what problem it solved but I settled on the convention of:

SET VAR vID = ID

as a first then:

SET VAR vVar1 = ACTCOMBINE IN ACTIVITYSCHED WHE ID = .vID
SET VAR vVar2 = ID IN ACTIVITYSCHED WHE ACTCOMBINE = .vVar1 and role =
'advisor'

If there is more than one possible row to be return rather than generate an
error message you could:

SET VAR vVar2 = (MAX(ID)) IN ACTIVITYSCHED WHE ACTCOMBINE = .vVar1 and role
= 'advisor'

or (MIN) or some other condition that would limit it to one row.
