The Background colors for RBase DOS are limited to black, blue, brown, cyan, green, magenta, gray & red. You can NOT usually use "light" colors (light blue, etc), yellow or white as background colors. If you specify those colors as background colors, you will get an error message "No color by that name". However, if you run RBase DOS in a window (not full screen), you can use these prohibited background colors by using an allowed color followed by the word blink. Thus, black blink = light black, blue blink = light blue... Also, brown blink = yellow and gray blink = white. This gives you an additional 8 background colors. You can use this in commands like SET MENU, SET DIALOG, SET COLOR as well as in write statements. "WRITE 'test color' WHITE ON BLUE BLINK " will write the words in white on light blue. "SET DIALOG BLACK ON GRAY BLINK" will make dialog boxes appear black on white. More stuff to play with in your spare time. Frank Radice [EMAIL PROTECTED]
