I have no problems inserting rows with autonumbered columns.
What version of Oterro do you have?  I am using 2.00.02, and it fixed several 
odd problems I was having w/ 2.00.01.  I have not had a chance to test the 
beta version of Oterro.

fyi, my autonumbered rows are indexed, but I do not use constraints or 
primary/foreign keys.

Make sure on your insert you are not trying to insert a value in that column. 
Also make sure if you are inserting dates, that you do not put quotes on the 
dates.  Tango defaults to putting quotes around dates and times.
