In broad strokes, you can create an ActiveX control (which BTW, can be used
in the current version of RBase with VBScript and in the Version 7.0 which
is supposed to use ActiveX natively) using the RichEdit control with a few
enhancements to make it a mini WordProcessor and save the contents to file
in RTF. Then you can make a VarChar variable = to the file and save it to
database as Varchar, preserving all of your formatting, without limitation
on size. If you are assured that Word is also always going to be on your
machine you could do this by Automation or just by calling Word from within
RBase, but always saving the file as RTF. This process would require using
some of the code I have mentioned previously where you have to have RBase in
a While loop looking for the marker file in a specifiic location before the
loop could end, to insure the output from the wordprocessor or word is
present to be inserted into the DB. The reverse would to be to write the
VarChar from the database to a file and including the file in the command
line to word or passing it to a Script to be loaded in the ActiveX control.
