I had problems with crashes/interminably long delays when querying the system tales directly, as, I believe, have others. My solution is to adopt a recommendation from (I think it was Dennis McGrath) to drop and recreate a table based on SYS_COLUMNS from which I extract my query data. This is code I run after any alteration to the structure: DROP TABLE TmpSysColumns PROJECT TmpSysColumns + FROM SYS_COLUMNS + USING * Try that and see if it works. >Under 6.5+ I get an access violation message and am dumped to >the desktop.
