We did have a Compaq 333 for a long while running Novell 3.12 and it ran well with no real problems. We did run into some problems when we wanted to get parts for it.. This server served us well for about 3 years before we retired it for a Power Edge 2400. We now run 3 Power Edge servers (2 x 2300 and 1 x 2400). We have had tremendous success with these. We are running Novell 5.1 on one of the 2300's, NT4 one the other 2300, and Win 2000 Server on the 2400). All of these are doing quite well. Oh, I almost forgot we are also running a NEC 700 or 800 ?? for a print server only. I highly recommend that if you have more than just a few users that you use a seperate machine for a print server only. We were using the 2400 for a while which is our main server and it really bogged down a lot things. The seperation made a big difference for both areas for printing and processing requests.
Hope this helps. Jim Limburg MJS wrote: > > One of my customers wants to upgrade to a new server. All he does is run Rbase > (very loyal!).
