We will need to see the code, Laurence (and thanks for spelling your first name 
correctly!)  

Make sure the variables are declared before going into the loop.  I would also suggest 
switching to the DECLARE CURSOR syntax from SET POINTER. It is SQL compatible, and 
somewhat more flexible than SET POINTER.
