I think I found the problem which was with the "Set Curr $ Pref . . ." command.  I discovered this setting in the database had a space, i.e. '  $' and affected the operation of the (Dwrd(arg)) function.  When I corrected the "Set Curr" setting or removed the space that function started working.again

Thanks for your help.  I hope this solution is permanent for me.

Thanks again.

Does it work in a one liner at the prompt?  Also, if you are developing in Winnt, I have had goofey things happen when I have been working for hours doing debugging with a lot of errors occurring during the debugging process and it seems that the environment becomes unsteady and unreliable.  I usually reboot and some of this stuff goes away (mysteriously).

Also,  I assume at this point, you have put yourself back to a clean slate with some R & R, meaning a Reboot and a Reload of the Database.

With the same problem above, I one database I created a computed column with this function and in one database the function works and in the other this function does not work in any table in the database.

I have placed the function (dwrd(arg)) function in reports of two identical databases and this function works perfectly in one database and does not work in the other.  Has any had this problem before or is it something I am doing wrong?
