Hi there R:Base developers, Have you ever though about the easiest way to retrieve and transform data from your database into HTML? If you don�t there, it is. XML becomes one of the most talked about technologies. I am shure you know enough about the XML. I�ll give you an example, which retrieves and transforms data from R:Base database into HTML. It�s been written in pure R:Base SQL and has two parts. First, one retrieves data from R:Base into XML.xml file. Second transforms XML.xml file into HTML (Web page) by XSL. You can see the first 10 rows of any of your views picked by RUN Data_XML IN XML.apx.
Requirements: 1. Windows 98SE/Me/2000 Professional/2000 Server. 2. Internet Explorer 5.0/5.5/6.0 (Some latest versions of IE5). 3. R:Base 6.1 or later. Instructions: 1. You must be the OWNER to test the Data_XML application. 2. RUN Data_XML IN XML.apx from R prompt. 3. View cannot be build using "� AS SELECT * FROM ViewName". 4. The List of Columns must be Comma Separated. 5. The List of Column must contents less then 160 symbols. 6. Find XML.xml file and double click on it or bring IE and open XML.xml. Put the WHERE clause into dialog box�. and many others so to develop a full library of store procedures as parsers for reading and processing XML documents.
