Depending on how big the DB is, you could even do better than that. Not only do we do tape backups, but I have 3 machines on the network doing an xcopy batch file that copies the 6th night back to the 7th directory, then the 5th night back to the 6th directory, and so on. I keep the last 7 days, and the last 10 month end backups just with the failsafe xcopy command. Never have to resort to tape to restore, though I do the tape backup each day and keep the tapes off site.
