Marc,
Printing ANY windows report to a file using the Windows
version of R:BASE will lose all its characteristics,
including fonts, etc.
If you still want your report output to a TEXT file, then:
01. Define a "Generic / Text Only" printer using Windows
Add Printer(s) option.
02. Change font settings for ALL report objects to Arial,
Regular, 8.
03. Make sure that Auto Expand option is checked for that
particular NOTE field object.
04. Use the (CVAL('WindowsPrinter')) command the get the
Windows Default Printer
Example:
SET VAR vWindowsPrinter = (CVAL('WindowsPrinter'))
05. At any given time, use (CVAL('CurrentPrinter')) to
verify current printer settings for R:BASE session.
06. Use the PRNSETUP 'PrinterName' command to change the
R:BASE Session Printer to 'Generic / Text Only' and
use that as R:BASE Session Default Printer.
Example:
PRNSETUP 'Generic / Text Only'
07. Send output to a file and PRINT the report accordingly.
Example:
OUTP TextFile.TXT
PRINT ReportName WHERE ...
OUTP SCREEN
08. Switch R:BASE session printer back to windows default
printer
Example:
PRNSETUP .vWindowsPrinter
09. Use LAUNCH command to view the TEXT file
Example:
LAUNCH TextFile.TXT
Enjoy and make sure to have fun!
Very Best Regards,
Razzak.
