Hi all....... Perhaps I have lost my mind (not to worry, it was small anyway). I'm sitting here debugging some software I wrote, and I notice something very odd. If there is only 1 Rbase connection to the network (Novell in this case), and no other users of any kind are on the LAN, if I type
CONNECT dbname the response is instant. BUT........if there is even 1 other Rbase connection to the network, not doing anything at all, but already attached to the same database, the same command CONNECT dbname takes about 2 seconds. Not a big deal unless you jumb back and forth between a lot of databases, but if you do jump back and forth, it can delay the software by multiples of 2 seconds.....five jumps and you are waiting 10 seconds. That can generate a tech support call from my customer to me! SO.......any comments?
