I have been migrating a client from the DOS version to the Windows version of R:Base
After playing with the latest version I have a enhancement request. I have just spent 4 days trying to make the windows version of R:Base print to a dot matrix printer and have the printer print at full speed. I thank all of you on the list who responded to my earlier posting. I tried ALL of the tricks to make it work. It just plain does not work! As soon as I stepped back to use a DOS version with the old report in the new database everything worked perfect. I have had to write a wrapper to ZIP out to DOS print the report and come back to the Windows version. This works but it it is a kludge at best. I want a solution to print directly from windows, rather than use my hodgepodge of code to make it work. Three things are required: 1: Include the report designer from the Dos version with the windows version of R:Base. 2: A way to flag a reports be a DOS report, so it does not get "Upgraded" to a windows report and does not appear in the Windows Report Designer menu. 3: A new print command, DOSPRINT that works like the PRINT command to print reports from the DOS system rather than the Windows System Thanks, Fred Antrobus [EMAIL PROTECTED] (425) 235-7796
