I use batch files to back up data to re-writeable CDs, external to RBase.
You should be able to launch such batch files within RBase.

Some of my batch files use XCOPY32.EXE, and others use PKZIP -- really
simple and inexpensive stuff but save me tons of time and give me excellent
safeguard. You can add switches to back up only those files that have been
changed, to speed up the process.

For my operation, I use Roxio CD Creator (version 5--BTW, this version is
compatible with Windows XP), a good speed LG re-writable CD ROM drive, and
quality 10x speed re-writeable CDs. It is fast and easy -- I just click a
batch file icon any time.
