Dennis,

If you go to R:tango, or use Oterro and write a front end in VB or some
other ODBC software, you will have to completly redo all of your forms,
reports, and applications.

When you use the ODBC connection (Oterro), that gives you a connection to
your data only, so you will have to use whatever software you are using on
the other side be it Tango or VB to access and manipulate your data. The
good news I have for you about this process is that as long as you have
current versions of R:base and Oterro is that you can access the same
database at the same time with both R:base and your new application. One
more thing to think about is once you start using Oterro is that you can use
other things besites Tango and VB to access your data. I have developed
some reports using Crystal reports. You can do some really cool things w/
Crystal reports. I hear you can do really cool thins w/ R:base version 7
too.
