Steve, Several people for whom I have great respect have posted links to Tango apps for you to look at. Tango is a solid performer, easy to learn and use and works great with Oterro and R:Base. In fact, I learned HTML by using the builders in Tango then looking at the code it generated. In your research, however, you may want to take some time to look at PHP - http://www.php.net It too is a solid performer, easy to learn and works great with R:Base as well as other databases if your needs should require. You will find the syntax similar to C/C++, and depending on your background, that may be either a positive or negative factor. I am in the midst of developing my first application in PHP. My client decided they wanted to use all freeware in their system, so we chose PHP, Apache and MySQL because we had the opportunity to deploy on a Linux server. I did build it with the capability to easily move from MySQL to R:Base if the need arises. My experience is that anything that can be done in Tango can also be done in PHP. It may take a little longer to code because Tango has all the neat builders that write a lot of code for you. But in apples-to-apples comparisons between PHP and Tango running various stress tests, PHP won hands down... by a long shot. Like comparing a Lincoln to an Indy car. Now I love Lincoln, but if you have a need for speed, you can't beat an Indy car. Check out the site I am building -- http://www.areia.org and see if you can notice any speed differences between that and what you normally would see. I know it runs faster than the Tango apps I wrote, but personally, I blame that on my lack of expertise in coding Tango. Again, you won't go wrong with Tango. But you might be well advised to include PHP in your research. And it is FREE so you can download it and give it a good look before committing. Good luck....
