Hi Jim, I think it is good practice to declare them although I got away with it like you have. Many people run into problems and have to declare them each time before using the form. I think I get away with it because I declare the variables as I am creating them. I enter them like this:
vbusname text = .vbusname vquantity double = .vquantity It seems that if they are declared within the form like that then you do not have to declare them before using the form. I would suspect that you do the same thing? I suspect other people declare them like this: vbusname = .vbusname vquantity = .vquantity and then select the datatype from the dropdown list. Either that or they pretype them from a R> prompt and then just add them to the form. It does not hurt to declare them before using the form as long as you use the correct datatype.
