| If you believe that it's not a memory problem........

Bernie,
It's now sounding like your problem is machine specific. Still, it usually
isn't a memory problem, but you need to be sure enough memory is available.
127mb is plenty, unless something else is using it up or it's not available
to R:BASE for some reason. Normally, if you can run R:BASE you should be
able to run the RELOAD to completion, from a memory point of view. Check
the FILES and BUFFERS settings. Also, if you are starting from a shortcut
check the properties. Make sure you have checked NO EMS.

| Eric,
| This reload was when I converted a dos 5.5 database to 6.5++. I thought
it
| might have something to do with the network or finding old 5.5 r:base
| programs. So I copied the database to that workstations hard drive,
logged
| off the network and got the same crash while reloading indexes.
| Then I went o the other workstation and did the same thing. When it
worked,
| I logged back onto the network and reloaded from the station with 254 MB
and
| it worked.
| If you believe that it's not a memory problem, then there might be a
problem
| with the 127MB machine.
| I might try it on a third machine with less memory and see what happens.
