Ladies and Gentlemen:
In an effort to put something back into this list...
In an effort to say "thank you" to all those that have helped me...
In an effort to show why I've been rattling on about things...
But especially, in an effort to be positive when things are right...
You are invited to view a few of the results that I have obtained by
visiting:
http://adbb.music.users.btopenworld.com
I have posted a partially working front page where you can click on the
following buttons to view 3 reports:
U in the top right-hand box
Labels & Producers in the bottom right-hand box
I have also added, in the bottom of the left-hand box, links to view:
The Report Table - an unload list of the table that holds the
variables...
An image of one of the reports - split into two parts, either of which
should give you the idea...
A list of the variables in the report.
The output from R:Base is formatted for IE5 by a cascading style sheet which
you can also view.
There are probably a few other things that you should know:
This is the first time I've created a publicly available web page so
please be patient if it's slow or goes wrong.
The three reports are entirely produced from R:Base. The only change
I've made afterwards is to the path for the style sheet.
I have purposely left all the blank space in the main reports because I
haven't found a way to get R:Base to lose it all. There are other ways but
I'm still working on the R:Base way. I've tried squashing everything up more
in the report designer but that seems to cause more problems than it solves.
It's only a problem as far as file-size/web-space and speed of loading is
concerned.
If BT allowed me more than 10mb of web-space I could have posted more -
clicking on other buttons will get you an error page because I'm too lazy to
stop it as this was never intended as a public page.
If you've got any questions about the content (ie: the music) please
contact me off-list.
If you want to use any of my ideas please help yourself. If you can
improve on them please tell me!!! (and the list.)
I know that I could have left out the header/footer column but I decided
to leave it in so that it was clearer and in case I add other sections at a
later date. It is a relatively small table so speed is not a problem.
I have no idea how anything might look in any browser other than IE5 -
sorry if it comes up all squiggles! In IE5 the higher your screen resolution
the better the display will be.
There's nothing specific to the Windows version of R:Base that I know of
so the same thing should work in Dos and, probably, most earlier versions
than 6.5++.
And finally, thank you to everyone that's helped on the list and to
Razzak/RBTI for making it possible in the first place.
Regards, Alastair.
