I'm not sure why, but it seems to be characteristic of the breed, or at least to me, it does. My workaround has always been to declare a cursor, and print them one at a time, and then loop through the valid rows to print. I'm enclosing a snipet of code here: Declare c2 cursor for select STOKNMBR from + stocktbl where stokflag is null and quantity > 0 open c2 Fetch c2 into VStock While vStock > 0 then OUTPUT printer LBLPRINT stockl1 where stoknmbr = .vStock output screen update stocktbl set stokflag = '1' where stoknmbr = .vStock clear var vStock set var vStock Inte Fetch c2 into VStock Endwhile drop cursor c2 By outputing the data to the printer one label at a time, then outputing to the screen, then looping through, the printers seem to keep track of the printer communication. Otherwise, it seems to loose the communications after so much data has been transferred. I went through this with 3 different Labeling programs, and 2 different thermal transfer printers. After a week of phone calls with tech support for the labeling software, and the printer mfg's, I tried this and it worked. Not sure it's right, but it seemed to work, so I added this hammer to my screwdrivers <g> I hope it helps. Damon Damon D.
