Hello All,
I am having a problem in creating a
pdf attachment for e-mail when there are multiple records involved in
the report. We use Outlook for e-mail.
There is no problem as far as e-mailing
single record reports, everything works as it should with the named pdf file
automatically attaching to the e-mail.
Here is the situation:
I search a table using menu
driven criteria to determine which records I want include in a pdf
report to e-mail to a contact,
my search selecting the records I
want.
Through menu choices, the
user must select the Acrobat PDFWriter as the default printer in order to
produce the e-mail attachment.
Setting the directory destination for the
Pdf report is also not a problem.
The problem arises when the user has to
name the destination file.
In my example here, there are 7 records that
match my search criteria and therefore will produce a 7 page report .
Here are the id numbers of the records
selected; 2662,4048,4129,4212,5389,6052 and 7923. PdfWriter prompts the user for
a file name.
Lets say the name of the file is CarWash.
The file CARWASH.PDF is created.
My launch command would be:
launch .vmailto
The text variable vmailto = MailTo:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?
Subject=Your comp request from Bill Eyring, Michael Haberman Associates,
Inc.&"C:\NewComm\CARWASH.PDF" This would launch perfectly if I could get
the file name from pdfwriter into my command.
I know I can prompt the user for a file
name, but I don't want the user to be asked twice for a file name, once by my
program and once by Acrobat PDFWriter.
I do not want to get involved in changing
the registry settings for Acrobat, since I would have a whole network of 20
machines to change.
What I would like to do is just get the
inputted file name value from Acrobat PdfWriter and insert it into my
program.
I am using the latest release of Rbase for
Windows and runs on Windows 2000 Professional computers and a Windows 2000
server.
Does anyone have a suggestion ? Your help is
greatly appreciated.
